Kiss & Go

Kiss & Go explores the relationship between grandparents living in Serbia and their granddaughter, who was born and lives in Denmark. Their relationship is shaped by physical distance and the absence of a shared language. The mother becomes the link between them – translating, mediating, and creating a space in which they can meet.

The film is composed of footage from airport arrivals and departures recorded over several years. The repeated meetings and farewells become a cycle of closeness and separation, joy and longing.

When the grandparents and granddaughter are together, they must find other ways of communicating through gestures, looks, laughter, and shared moments. The film captures both the intimacy of their relationship and the frustrations that emerge when language limits their ability to connect.

Kiss & Go reflects on what is lost and what is created across generations in families shaped by migration, where distance is experienced not only geographically, but also through language, memory, and belonging.
